La Mola Formentera

CA NA SAGRADA, nestled in the natural beauty of Formentera, is a breathtaking project completed in the summer of 2024 by conceptual designer and project manager Monica van der Meulen. Set on the island’s highest hill, La Mola, the home offers sweeping views across Formentera, facing northwest toward the ever-changing sea. Surrounded by lush trees, its terraces allow for a choice between sun or shade throughout the day as the sunlight shifts.

This remarkable transformation began with a forgotten ruin in the ANEI Zone - an area protected for its natural importance. The project took five years to secure permits and another two years of construction due to the zone’s strict regulations.

Monica’s vision was to create a space where simplicity and luxury coexist. The house is designed with a natural, serene feel, with shades of white used in the paint and tiles, balanced with rich details of wood, steel, and the island’s native Marès stone. This combination of materials brings warmth and authenticity to the design. Every detail, both inside and out, is crafted with care, creating a home that exudes understated elegance.

CA NA SAGRADA blends perfectly into its surroundings, offering a peaceful retreat while honoring the island's natural beauty.
